For Lovers Only

Forever Alone...

I love the night.
Its edges and corners hiding treasures those sleeping will never find.
In the dark,
I could draw a map of your body, even after all this time.

With darkness all around, in everything,
there's a light in my heart.
I breathe twice.

I don't mind not sleeping, no more.
It gives me time to think, without daylights distraction.

I've never been more comforted by anything,
than the thought that I could be alone forever and not mind about it.

Into the Wild...

Dust coats my boots.
Leaves caress my shoulders and arms as I walk through.
I feel more apart of nature now than I ever have.
Morning fog rests in my hair,
the weight of its love cripples me.

New Orleans...

The end of the world already happened.
I'm down below trying to breathe through water.

The sun sleeps for 10 days without wakin'.
Without warmth, you can feel your heart go weak.
Even as it slows I can hear everything in the universe,
all the living things,
their hearts beating like millions of drops of rain tapping against my window.
And when it goes dark behind my eyes, I can see.

I'm unsteady on my feet,
even with the lights on,
but I feel so strong.

The Edge of Life...

We're so far away from our instincts,
why don't we trust ourselves?

Society pulls you down to a level you've never been near,
then builds a cage to hold you.
Tempted every now and then,
but we don't have the key.

So maybe we don't know the way,
but part of life is getting lost.
And yes we'll make mistakes,
but part of life is being smart.

You learn, then you teach.

Sometimes you have to go away from yourself for a while,
to find out who you really are.
Sometimes you have to close your eyes for a moment,
so when you open them you can see in the dark.

A Million Things to do Without You...

Anywhere but here.

The rain falls in circles breaking apart the night,
they touch the sides of light, we’re still together.
The thin fabric of time separates from the future, as if it were never dependent,
then the day goes forever and we are lost.
Further from where we were before, shadows beg our return.
I wander, apart from myself.

Within a cloud, wet from head to toe.

A Self and Another…

A slightness,
In a way of being,
That is so delicate.
Like a flock of birds,
The thought of a feather
Falling,
Lightly supported by the wind.

I wonder if I’m in tune
To experience life intimately
Ideally
Or rather, only believe I am.

The restlessness forever a passenger
Who rides unwanted by my side.
Though, an image of my future self
With a calmness of mind
Allows another breath of thin air to coat my lungs,

Just enough to keep me alive,

Not quite enough, leaving me breathless.
